Ryukyu Budan Shoryu Matsuri Daiko
Leader's Greeting
Takaaki Yoshikoshi
My first experience with eisa was the performance by Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko Tokyo Division that I saw in the summer of 2003.
I was overwhelmed by their dynamic dance under the strong sunshine, and since then, watching eisa became a part of my life.
Next year, I was accepted as a member of the group and participated in a number of events together with daily practices.
In 2008, I was promoted to the vice branch manager of Tokyo Division, thanks to the support from the members and the various people helping the team. As a vice manager, I worked hard to be a good example of junior members as well as I did my best to keep the tradition, transferred from senior people, all of which were precious experience for me.
Going forward, as the leader of Ryukyu Budan Shoryu Matsuri Daiko, I will strive for the further improvement of the performance, utilizing my experience at Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko, have the challenging spirit, and make best efforts to build a group that can bring moving performances to the audience.
Ryukyu Budan Shoryu Matsuri Daiko exists because of the people support us.
With many thanks to the audience in our heart, we hit drums, keeping the sense of appreciation in each hit, and make continuous efforts to do the best performance to reward the help from all the people.
I always appreciate your support for Ryukyu Budan Shoryu Matsuri Daiko.
Churashima (Beautiful Island) Okinawa Ambassador
Junichiro Mizuno
15 years have passed since I started a new contemporary eisa group in Tokyo. In March 2004, I was named “Churashima Okinawa Ambassador” thanks to participation to a number of events of our group.
“Churashima Okinawa Ambassador” has been created to facilitate the promotion of Okinawa outside of the region. That honor is given to people who are related to Okinawa and those who show deep understanding and attachment to Okinawa.
The desire to promote Okinawa performance in Tokyo had existed in my mind since I came to Tokyo from Okinawa because of my strong love to my hometown. When I was thinking about the idea to show Okinawa performance in Tokyo, I saw Mirukumunari performance in “Naha Ozunahiki Hatagashira Gyoretsu” event and that performance stole my heart. I still can vividly remember the strike that I experienced at that event.。
With keeping the strike in my heart, I would like to plan various events, which can attract tourists to Okinawa, mainly in Tokyo as “Churashima Okinawa Ambassador”. I am going to expand my scope from Tokyo to nationwide, and eventually, worldwide.
I appreciate your support to Ryukyu Budan Shoryu Matsuri Daiko from the bottom of my heart.
